Legal
Terms of Service
The rules for using Wick Journal. Plain language where we can, precise where we must.
Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Wick Labs, LLC, Kent, Washington, USA, who operates Wick Journal ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Wick Journal, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding agreement.
Not financial advice
Wick Journal records and analyzes your own trading. It does not tell you what to trade.
- We don't give investment, financial, tax or legal advice, and nothing in the app is a recommendation to buy or sell.
- We're not a broker or a prop firm. We don't hold funds, place orders or connect to your trading account.
- Statistics, P&L figures, percentiles and Mountain positions come from the data you enter or import, and can be wrong or incomplete. Check important numbers against your broker or prop firm.
- Your prop firm's rules and dashboard decide whether you pass, fail or get paid, not Wick Journal.
- Futures trading carries substantial risk of loss. You're responsible for every trading decision you make.
We're not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any prop firm, broker or trading platform. Their names belong to their owners and appear only to describe compatibility.
Your account
- Give accurate sign-up details and keep your email address current.
- One person per account. Don't share your login.
- Keep your password safe, and tell us at hello@wickjournal.com if you think someone else has access.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account.
Your data
Your trades, notes and account details belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them only to run Wick Journal for you, including the anonymous score that ranks you on the Mountain (see the Privacy Policy).
Only upload data you have the right to use. You can export your trades as a CSV at any time.
Fair use
Don't:
- log made-up trades or accounts to move your place on the Mountain;
- try to identify other traders or reach their data;
- probe, overload or bypass the security or rate limits of the service;
- scrape the service, or copy or reverse-engineer it to build a competing product;
- upload malware, or files you don't have the right to share;
- use Wick Journal for anything illegal.
Plans & pricing
The first 100 accounts
The first 100 accounts are free forever: no trial clock and no downgrade later. When you claim one, you agree to share Wick Journal in a post within your first 7 days. It's a good-faith commitment: it's how the next trader finds us.
Paid plans
After the free seats are taken, Wick Journal is a paid subscription, billed monthly or yearly. You'll see the price before you pay. Prices are in US dollars, plus any sales tax shown at checkout. Free-forever accounts are never charged.
Renewal
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price you signed up for, until you cancel. A launch price stays yours for as long as your subscription stays active; if it ends and you subscribe again later, the price at that time applies.
Cancelling
You can cancel anytime from Settings → Subscription. You keep full access until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. We don't refund partial periods. If you think you were charged by mistake, write to us at hello@wickjournal.com.
Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, you keep full access for 6 days while you update your card; we'll remind you in the app. If it's still unpaid after that, your subscription ends and we won't try to charge you again. Your account stays: you can still sign in, see your data and Mountain, change your settings and export your trades, but adding or changing trades, accounts and notes needs an active plan.
Payments
Payments are handled by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
The service
Wick Journal is new and actively developed. We may add, change or remove features. We aim to keep it available and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own records of anything you can't afford to lose; the CSV export is there for that.
Disclaimers & liability
To the extent the law allows, Wick Journal is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of results.
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for trading losses, lost profits, failed evaluations, lost payouts, or indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
Ending your account
You can stop using Wick Journal at any time and delete your account in Settings → Account (see the Privacy Policy). Deletion is permanent, so export your trades first if you want a copy.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users or the service at risk. Unless it's urgent or the law prevents it, we'll tell you why first.
Changes, law & contact
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll email you before they take effect. If you keep using Wick Journal after that, you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, except where your local consumer law says otherwise.
